| Visit website

For centuries artists have used flowers to employ symbolism. Coinciding with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Chelsea in Bloom and Sketch in Bloom, Marylebone will have a variety of flower displays and Anthophile brings together 11 artists, both emerging and established across varied disciplines, in both media and approach, all using botanical displays to create their own vanitas, re-examining still life’s associations with mortality, materialism and spirituality or as a tool to add commentary to a range of important contemporary issues.

Curated by Yan Skates the show brings together a group of predominantely female artists such as Carolina Mizrahi, Phoebe Cummings, Ann Carrington and Tracy Emin.

Anthophile will be at the Daniel Raphael Gallery, 26 Church Street, Marylebone, NW8 8EP from 15 - 31 May.
