Artist in Residence exhibition - Pegasus

New London landmark, TWO FIFTY ONE, launches ‘Artist in Residence’ programme of bespoke artwork inspired by South London, to raise funds for local causes.

14 June 2018 – 5 July 2018

Renowned anonymous street artist Pegasus will be unveiling an immortalisation of London hero, Charlie Chaplin at the launch of a new summer exhibition - Artist in Residence, at Elephant & Castle development Two Fifty One. Known for his stencilled graffiti pieces, Pegasus plays with cultures most recognisable icons, such as Madonna, Kate Middleton and more recently, Meghan Markle & Prince Harry. The tribute to Charlie Chaplin will be available to view, with London’s skyline as a background at TWO FIFTY ONE alongside other creations by leading artists and Stephen Wiltshire MBE, illustrator and print maker Jess Wilson and cityscape photographer Ope.

The exhibition takes inspiration from London sights and surrounding area. TWO FIFTY ONE plays host to the exhibition bringing together some of the city’s most hotly tipped names in the art world as well as up and coming artists from local university, London College of Communications.
The showcase is a modern take on the traditional ‘Artist in Residence’ that was popular in 20th Century where many landmarks would offer space to nomadic creatives and artists to house studios and exhibitions for free of use.

Artist in Residance is at Two Fifty One from 14 June - 5 July. Entry is free.
