This August, Shakespeare's Globe uncovers the remarkable life of the woman who inspired the 'Dark Lady' in Shakespeare's sonnets.

10 August 2018 – 1 September 2018

Emilia is a new play about the extraordinary Emilia Bassano: poet, mother, feminist and Shakespeare’s reputed muse. An all-female cast will finally reveal the life of this remarkable woman whose story has been erased by history.
