Guildhall Galleries

A free series of galleries exploring the rich and colourful history of the City of London.

29 August 2017 | Visit website

Guildhall Galleries, located in the City of London, are home to a wide range of ancient treasures - from Roman ruins to famous artworks. Guildhall Art Gallery combines a permanent collection of works dating from 1670 to the present day - including 17th century portraits and pre-Raphaelite masterpieces - as well as a temporary exhibition space, currently showing Nature Morte: an exhibition examining time and mortality.

London's Roman Amphitheatre is found underneath Guildhall Yard, and exhibits include a real Roman skull and a Gladiator, while the new City of London Police Museum charts the history of the men and women who have protected the City since 1839.

Guildhall Galleries are open seven days a week, and found in the City of London, EC2V 5AE. Entry is free, though some special exhibitions are ticketed.
