Horniman X Goldsmiths

As night falls, masked performers, surreal 3D ‘Mutoids’ and a 1000-year-long musical composition will transform the Horniman Museum and Gardens

Enter an alternate world of immersive experiences, digital installations and interactive performances created by staff and students at Goldsmiths, responding to the Horniman’s collections, spaces and history.
 
Experience digital palm readings, Mutator VR, interactive treasure hunts and an experimental self-guided tour. Discover enigmatic instructions in red envelopes, installations throughout the Museum and much more.
 
Throughout the night, enjoy food, cocktails and craft beer from our café and bars.

Activities and performers on the night include:
 
Mutator VR - Two immersive VR experiences developed by pioneering Goldsmiths computer artist William Latham and collaborators
Masked-Puja for Meme-Tech-Animals - an experimental audio-visual performance by Plastique Fantastique and Benedict Drew
The Long Now - During: Adaptive Rhythm - A spatial sound installation and moving image work by artist Appau Jnr Boakye-Yiadom using instruments that form part of the Musical Instrument Collection at the Horniman
The Horniman Palm Reader - Place your hand inside the magical display cabinet and discover the object that reflects your future. Created by Jesse Wolpert, Associate Lecturer in Computing, with Dr Theo Papatheodorou and Tom Chambers
Listening Post - A unique listening post relaying a thousand year-long musical composition for Tibetan singing bowls
