Hyon Gyon at Parasol Unit Foundation for Contemporary Art

Expressive paintings and sculptures exploring sociocultural identity, grief and sexual politics

23 January 2019 – 31 March 2019 | Visit website

Showing for the first time in the UK and Europe, Hyon Gyon’s solo exhibition at Parasol unit bursts with raw energy.

Exploring themes of sociocultural identity, grief, anger and sexual politics, Hyon Gyon’s expressive paintings and sculptural assemblages come together as powerful fusions of vivid colour and emotion, and are made using a combination of traditional Korean textiles, Japanese paper and paint with less conventional media, such as found objects, wax, plaster, gold leaf and foam.

23 January – 31 March 2019, Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art, 14 Wharf Road, London N1 7RW
