Retracing Our Footsteps

A series of play readings of classic works by British/South Asian writers at the Royal Court Theatre.

30 May 2018 – 1 June 2018 | Visit website | Book tickets

Retracing Our Footsteps is a mini retrospective of play readings of classic works by British/South Asian writers featuring plays originally performed at the Royal Court Theatre by authors from India and the UK. The subjects explored range from child prostitution, corruption, partition, vengeance, love, and integration.  The plays were considered ‘in-yer-face’ theatre of its time and this is a unique opportunity for audiences to engage with diverse stories and from a less known British Asian theatre heritage.

The readings will be presented 7.30pm in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs and will be followed by panel discussions with writers and guests.
