Shanter (Shit Banter)

A new play by maisie Brooker follows a group of friends at a festival that's going out of hand

12 March 2018 – 24 March 2018 | Visit website

Have you ever taken banter too far? Shanter is a dark comedy about the dangers of “Lad Banter” and how it can affect friend groups in a pressurized environment. The play gives an insight into youth culture today and how vulnerable young people really are. Written by Maisie Brooker and directed by Joshua Sharp, it follows 5 friends at a music festival where they have all planned to relive the good times but things don’t really go to plan and they quickly realise that nothing will ever be the same again. The play tackles issues such as peer pressure, bullying, harassment and other dangers and obstacles that young people come face to face with, especially within a pressurised environment like a music festival.

Top of The Hill Productions is an emerging company focusing on new and exciting work that tackles issues that are prevalent but rarely addressed in todays society.

Shanter will be at the Old Red Lion Theatre 12 - 24 March. Tickets £14.
