The Chap Olympiad

Celebrate all things dapper, daring and dashing at the year’s most eccentric Sporting Event

14 July 2018 | Visit website

Help set five new world records at the annual Chap Olympiad, organised by Bourne & Hollingsworth and The Chap Magazine, and this year is sponsored by Boodles Gin.
The light-hearted event is aimed at revisiting the aspects of 1920s-1950s English life, with attendees invited to don vintage costumes instead of sporting gear.
Three events will form new additions to the Guinness Book of Records, while the other two will be attempts to beat the current records. World record attempts will be made for:

·        The most hats worn while riding a bicycle
·        The most ties knotted in one minute.
·        The most hats tossed onto a hat stand in a minute
·        The most people smoking one pipe.
·        The fastest 100-yard sprint with a cup of tea.

Attendees are also invited to participate in a series of unique games such as Umbrella Jousting with bowler hats and briefcases as armour, the Tea Pursuit where contenstants will cycle around transfering a cup of tea from one team mate to the next, or Butler Baiting which will see a fleet of butlers mixing perfect Boodles G&Ts at the cocktail bar. When the bell is rung to announce that drinks are ready, contestants – with a leg tied together – must make a three-legged dash to the bar. If they don’t make it in under one minute, the butler gets to drink their Boodles G&T. Each game will reward panache rather than sporting prowess.

The Chap Olympiad takes place at Bedford Square Gardens, Bloomsbury, on 14 July. Tickets to this eccentric sporting event can be purchased for £25 from www.chapolympiad.com.
