The Croydon Avengers

The Croydon Avengers

A vibrant new play for young people about a trio of superheroes keeping Croydon safe.

14 June 2018 – 1 July 2018

Written by award winning playwright Oladipo Agboluaje and inspired by participatory work with young refugees, The Croydon Avengers blends comic book visuals with action-packed martial arts to tell a funny, powerful story of terrorist threats, heroism and true friendship in an England that seems frightened of anyone who’s different.

A trio of masked vigilantes send Croydon’s crime rate plummeting. They’ve run away from their war-torn countries and are just trying to help but the media proclaims them to be a threat to British identity. Can three teenage refugees really become the saviours of a doomed nation?

The Croydon Avengers is at Harrogate Theatre, 14-16 June / Ovalhouse, 19-23 June / Blue Elephant Theatre, 29 June + 1 July
