The Ferryman at the Gielgud Theatre

Jez Butterworth’s epic new play The Ferryman has enjoyed a sold-out run at the Royal Court Theatre before it is due to open at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre on 20 June 2017, where it will play throughout the summer.
 
Northern Ireland, 1981. The Carney farmhouse is a hive of activity with preparations for the annual harvest. A day of hard work on the land and a traditional night of feasting and celebrations lie ahead. But this year they will be interrupted by a visitor.
 
Directed by the Academy Award-winning Sam Mendes, the cast includes multi award-winning actor Paddy Considine, Laura Donnelly and Genevieve O’Reilly.
