The Best Food in London this November

31 October 2017 Livvi Alderson-Tuck

This November, London is welcoming even more delicious food to the fray. And while burgers, pasta and sushi may be staples within your food repertoire, these new openings below promise to take your favourite dishes to new heights with unique ingredients and cooking techniques. Whether you are feeling flush or are wanting to tighten the purse strings before Christmas, this lot offers an option to dine out for everyone.

Cut and Grind Burgers

Ever been slightly concerned about what exactly is in your burger? Well at Cut and Grind Burgers, no need to worry as the meat for your burger is ground right in front of your eyes, so you know that your burger is 100% high quality. Cut and Grind, recently opened in King's Cross, offer two different types of burgers, Juicy, for full out decadence and Skinny, for a lighter taste. Every week the beef blends change, combining new delicious ingredients, and there will be a rotating special board showcasing seasonal flavours. Alongside your usual beef burgers, expect offerings such as chicken patty with avocado mayo, maple bacon, panko crispy poached egg or yellowfin tuna steak , soya mayo and Asian slaw. Cut and Grind Burgers are also pimping up the humble accompanying fries; halloumi fries and truffle Parmesan chips. Open all day, with breakfast burger options, all at cheap and cheerful prices, this new eatery is a must for any burger fiend.

Cut and Grind Burgers is in Kings Cross.

Flour and Grape

It is no secret that Italians know how to do food, and how to do it well. This new restaurant opening in Bermondsey focuses on serving simple, classic Italian dishes in a casual, affordable environment. Headed up by Adam Czmiel, formerly of Pizarro, Flour and Grape will only ever have eight pastas on their menu, championing beautiful Mediterranean ingredients. Examples include Tortellini with roasted pork shoulder and sage butter and Reignette with tiger prawns, bisque and basil. If you are in rush, you can grab pasta to go from the front counter. For starters, there will be a range of small dishes and antipasto, with authentic, creamy gelato to finish. As the name suggests, you can't have flour without some grape, and wine is a big focus here. There will be many varieties served by the glass and the wine promises to be as cheap as it is on the Continent.

Flour and Grape is in Bermondsey.

Aulis

Hailed as one of the leading chefs in the country, Simon Rogan is opening a new experimental kitchen and restaurant space in London. This is not the first time Aulis has appeared in the Big Smoke, it was first a pop up in Claridge's, but now it will have its own home at a secret location. During the day, the space will be a cookery workshop, with Rogan's team of incredible chefs trying out and creating new, exciting dishes that will be served to the lucky 8 who have reservations that evening. At £250 per person, and at a hidden location only revealed on booking, Aulis promises to be a very exclusive dining experience. However, if you want to taste the cutting edge of British cuisine, Aulis needs to be added to your wishlist.

Aulis is at an undisclosed location. Reserve online.

Inigo

Not another sushi place, I hear you cry! However, don't worry, as this Australian/Japanese fusion restaurant opening early October in Soho will be a sushi joint with a twist. The sushi rolls will be made more in a burrito style, so can be hand held for eating on the go. The large sushi rolls will feature ingredients not usually associated with sushi, such as ponzu marinated tuna, miso cured salmon, macadamia nuts and pickled daikon. Eco friendly packaging, rotating specials and a playlist curated by one of The Kooks; Inigo will be a great addition to the Soho food scene.

Inigo is in Soho.

The Coal Shed

After great success in Brighton, The Coal Shed is coming to London as part of the new One Tower Bridge development situated on the Thames. This restaurant will focus on sustainable, seasonal meat and fish, the latter being delivered daily via boat- can't get much fresher than that! 35 day aged steaks will be cooked on hot coals to give a juicy, smokey taste with catch of the day dishes showcasing the best seafood the country has to offer. The Coal Shed is great spot to dine with a big group of friends, with huge, sharing roasts on Sunday and their Moroccan spiced goat which is the perfect feast for a hungry crew.

The Coal Shed is in Southwark.
