The annual Geek Girl conference, for people of all genders interested in tech and start-ups, aims to give attendees a day of inspiration, learning and networking. This year’s theme is ‘The GeekGirls’ Guide to the Galaxy’, with speakers this year including Joyce Harper, Professor of Human Genetics and Embryology at UCL and Adiba Maduegbuna, Founder of ANIM and Android Engineer at ASOS.

The Winter Retreat

Kodak take over Selfridge’s Skate Bowl
The Girl Skateboard Co. team are coming to London for a skateboarding take over at Selfridges Skate Bowl. Skateboarding novices and experts alike will be able to get hands-on advice and lessons from professional skaters Richard Mc Crank and Tyler Pacheco at the UK’s only permanent indoor wooden skate bowl.

Russian Film Week
Russian Film Week is a relatively new festival, but it has grown remarkably quickly in the last two years, bringing over the crème de la crème of Russian filmmaking to the UK. This year‘s line-up at Regent Street Cinema has a special focus on the young filmmakers’ feature-length debuts, dubbed by some as the Russian New Wave. Don’t miss Hostages. It Was Important To Understand on 30 November and Anna’s War on 28 November, both at Regent St Cinema with director Q&As following.

Have a winter warmer at VQ
Restaurant and bar VQ have just opened their newest location in Euston Square, serving Londoners up their famed fare from sunrise until the early hours, meaning 24-hour Londoners will never be without good food and drink. This week sees the last few days of their November Hangry Hour, where complimentary bar bites will be served with a selection of cocktails from 5-7pm. Don’t miss out!
