Top 5 Chillingly Cool Halloween Parties

18 October 2018

Halloween is creeping closer and as it falls on a Wednesday, next weekend is the weekend for everyone to get their Thriller on and boooOOOoogie on down. This year’s spine-tingling nights out include eerie immersive theatre, blood-curdling costume parades and even spooky speakeasies.

Escape the Purge at Bunker 51
Inspired by the petrifying-yet-popular series of Purge films, this night will bring a creepy combination of clubbing and immersive theatre to keep the scary vibes alive. A mix of DJs, immersive installations, a scare maze and theatre performers will create the vibe of an underground bunker where the only way to survive is dancing the Halloween night away, so bring your scariest moves and do your best to outlive the night! As the Purge is occurring all weekend, the bunker will be open both Friday and Saturday to keep you safe…

Hit up the Skylight Halloween Party
Another 2-dayer will be held at Skylight Rooftop, with a 90s Club Classics theme on the Friday and Deep House Disco on the Saturday. Party the night away with a great view of the London skyline, get involved in the costume parade and see if you can win prizes, tricks, treats and more. Seasonal cocktails will be served, including the Black Autumn Widow – bet it’s killer. Anyone wanting to act out the rooftop scene from Ghostbusters, be warned: the party is primarily on Skylight's indoor level and roof access will be partially restricted.

Get lost in the tunnels of the Haunted House of Vans
There'll be a serious case of ghosts and ghouls underneath Waterloo this weekend as House of Vans gets a hair-raising Halloween makeover to become the Haunted House of Vans. You won’t be short of ghoulish activities as the cinema room will be showing back-to-back horror films throughout the evening and you’ll also have the chance to be decked out in a head-to-toe Vans outfit, should you win the best Halloween costume prize. Either way, there’ll be ample time to dance the cobwebs away dancing to deadly DJ Black Josh and mysterious (seriously, his identity is a mystery) MC CASisDEAD.

Have a daringly Deutsch Halloween
October 31 doesn’t just mean Halloween, but also the end of Oktoberfest. Why not celebrate both occasions at London Oktoberfest in Finsbury Park, where there’s a whole two weeks of Oktoween fun to be had, with long tables, gallons of beer and dreadful decorations. You’ll want to dress up, whether that be in dirndl and lederhosen or in something slightly more spooky. (BTW, it’s free on Sundays!)

Do Halloween Gatsby style with the Candlelight Club’s Halloween Ball
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” If you fancy being borne back to an undead version of the 1920s, head to a long-forgotten ballroom in east London for a fearsome flappers’ knees-up spooktacular. Along with a live swing band and Charleston dancers, drinkers will be serenaded by the Creep Quartet, a string quartet playing classic horror movie themes! As the night wears on and things get darker, music will be followed by two variety shows hosted by musical Weimar androgyne Victor Victoria, with burlesque, hooping, and uncanny magic. Meanwhile, foreboding fortunetellers will be on hand to predict your terrible future… And if you’re really feeling like this might be your last party on Earth, splash out on a three-course meal - with champagne, of course.
